CURRENT COLLABORATIONS & PROJECTS

This is my instagram page, my diary of sorts

Onoma Kaffee is a speciality coffee Roastery in Flensburg.

Here I work as a barista. Plus, I craft diverse lines of cups for diverse types of coffees.

This collaboration means a lot to me. As it contributes to the engagement between our team, the guests , handcrafted ceramics and coffee.

Karla is a friend and fellow potter . Her passion for nature is truly inspiring.

We are currently renovating our soon-to-be workshop space in one of Flensburg' s historical streets,

Süderfischerstraße. At the moment our collaborative focus is on children and the youth.

Exploring and reinterpreting the Japanese repair art of Kintsugi has been an ongoing process. One that allowed me to give new life to broken pottery and also adopt new perspectives.

ABOUT ME Diana

Through my artistic journey, I've explored various forms of expression and eventually found a deep interest in tactile perception which led me to handcrafting ceramics. Discovering the endless possibilities to work with clay is a grounding way to express myself and ultimately connect with others, while trying to reflect these meaningful aspects through my works.

At the moment, I get busy creating pieces by hand and on the pottery wheel, as well as planning my very first pottery courses for kids and adults.

I want to create pieces that are functional and mostly can evoke simple reactions like the stimulation to explore textures on the skin or inquire about the creation processes. In my experience, visual and textural divergence can be enhancers of curiosity and engagement. This is also why I often choose to add hand-carved details to my pieces or mould them entirely with my hands.

It is not a specific aesthetics at I am looking for, but rather to try and make pieces that scream 'this is pottery' ... and to me, the key to that is staying open towards the infinite possibilities clay and crafting bring along. Experiencing and learning continuously about all possible shapes, colors, materials, feelings and connections.

I am Diana, I am a ceramicist working in Flensburg, Germany.

DOT Ceramic Works is the simple representation of my full name through its initials: D for Diana, O for Oana and T for Ticsa.
